Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Chip Cookies are everyone’s favorite and I’ve always been on the lookout for the perfect recipe. I’ve tried a number of recipes, but found this one from Betty Crocker that turned out great! I used sweet chocolate chips, so added only 1 cup instead of the 2 cups of semisweet chocolate chips from the original recipe. I also skipped the nuts. Do try it out!

Ingredients:

2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips/ 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup nuts (optional)

Method:

Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt.

Cream the butter and the sugars in a stand mixer till combined. Add the egg and vanilla, and mix.

Add the flour, baking soda and salt, and mix with a spatula till fully combined.

Add the chocolate chips and nuts, and mix.

Scoop the cookie dough onto an ungreased baking tray, leaving about 2 inches between each scoop to allow enough room for the cookie dough to spread out as it bakes.

Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit or gas mark 5 for 8-12 minutes.

Once ready, allow the cookies to cool for a couple of minutes and remove them from the baking tray.

Allow them to cool completely before transferring them into an airtight container.
