Oats and Chocolate Chip Cookies
I love oat cookies as they're a nice change from the regular cookies and they're just as easy to make. They also make a great snack for any time of the day.
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
Method:
In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and the sugars.
Beat in the eggs and the vanilla.
Combine flour, baking soda, and salt separately.
Mix into the egg-butter-sugar mixture.
Mix in the oats and chocolate chips.
Cover and chill in the refrigerator for about an hour.
Scoop the dough onto a cookie sheet. Slightly flatten each scoop.
Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit or gas mark 5 for 10-12 minutes.
Allow the cookies to cool for 5 minutes before removing them from the cookie sheet.
Allow them to cool completely before transferring them into an airtight container for storage.
Tip: You can replace the white flour with wholemeal flour and the cookies taste just as amazing.
